Rare Mid-Century Modern candlestick figurine, vibrant in colour and full of character. This high-end collectible piece was created by the renowned Pride Creations in the 1960s. Entirely shaped and hand-painted in Japan, it perfectly illustrates the unique craftsmanship of Japanese artisans of the time in lacquered papier-mâché work. It takes the form of a female character in a Pop and psychedelic style, topped with a stack of rings serving as a holder for a taper candle. The decoration features graphic patterns of flowers and hearts typical of the Mod movement of the sixties.
