Wonderful stool of English origin, in Victorian style, with a hand-embroidered floral pattern in "petit point." The footrest consists of a large central element, an embroidery made using the "petit point" technique, depicting two perfectly crafted white lilies on a bright burgundy background. The entire perimeter of the footrest is decorated with a padded cushion printed with the famous Vichy check pattern, blending red, green, and white. All sides are adorned with a garnet tassel fringe skirt, adding texture and a more classic finish. The lower part is made of red tapestry. The stool rests on four turned mahogany legs with curved moldings and rings. "Petit point" is a type of hand embroidery where the stitches are made diagonally, allowing, thanks to a regular canvas, to create very detailed designs and images, with curves and color gradients, thus creating patterns between embroidery and painting. These embroidered stools or footrests are very common in England, always made artisanally, and have become a fundamental element of the living room, usually placed near fireplaces. It is a piece that brings comfort and warmth to the room.
