11 pieces in melamine Melmac – Capac & Durawear – California – Mid-Century

Set of 11 pieces of vintage American Melmac dinnerware from California, mid-century: 3 cups, 7 small plates, and 1 small pouring pitcher. Characteristic avocado green of American palettes from the era. The cups have low, rounded shapes with flat handles, featuring a wide circular opening. A particularly successful geometric detail. The small pitcher echoes this handle design, paired with a well-defined spout. Stamped: cups by Capac, pitcher and plates by Durawear. Capac and Durawear are two brands historically linked to the California molded melamine industry. Their production is part of the rise of this modern, lightweight, and durable dinnerware, particularly appreciated in American households in the mid-20th century. Cups diameter 10 cm, height 5 cm. Small plate diameter 15 cm. Pitcher length from handle to spout 14 cm, height 5.5 cm. In good vintage condition, with some signs of use, including marks from rubbing and fine scratches inside the cups, as well as slight signs of wear on some surfaces (see photos). Avocado green, rounded lines, and sculptural handles: all embodying the spirit of mid-century Californian design.
