Murano Vase Sommerso Bicolor Amber Smoke Blown Swirl Swan Neck 35cm

Sculptural glass vase from Murano. This piece with organic and elongated lines combines several high-technical Venetian crafts. The chromatic design relies on precise hot inclusion: the colored masses, one amber/yellow luminous and the other smoky gray-green, unfold on either side of the vase in a fluid juxtaposition. The entire double heart is then encapsulated and suspended within a thick mass of transparent crystal. This Sommerso technique by juxtaposition creates a complex play of light depending on the angle of observation. The shape is not molded: the glassmaker performed free blowing and then worked the material hot with tongs. This free shaping allowed for the neck to be elongated into two asymmetrical points, one of which ends in an elegant "swan neck" volute. The base, characteristic of pieces entirely handcrafted, shows the polished scar from detachment at the pontil. The condition is remarkable: the glass is clear and has no cracks or chips.
