Antique H205xL103 curved iron gate door with mailbox

Heavy and solid arched door, in solid iron, 18th, 19th century, painted blue (and not lavender color as it appears in some photos) on both sides, pushing straight, 19th century. It is mounted with two hinges, and is on a pivot in the lower part, in a heavy metal part to be sealed to the ground (visible in the photos placed at the bottom right). It is equipped with two "shutters" with handles, each opening on an openwork plate allowing you to see and converse in complete safety, these shutters "slide" in two upper and lower rails. They had been condemned by the layer of blue paint and the accumulated dust, which explains why the "grilles" are not painted inside. The first 3 photos (not counting the cropped photo are the front, the back and the back with the shutters open). Solid and very massive, it is equipped with a round brass-plated handle that we did not want to shine to preserve its authenticity, its lock and its key which works. This lock was installed after its manufacture. In view of the hardware on the back of the handle, it should turn and engage the door opening latch (which can be modified again depending on the intended use). The mailbox is somewhat dented, has a hole on the back, its door does not close optimally and it has lost a hinge, but it is full of charm! The traces of rust visible in our photos are only superficial, only the corner at the bottom left at the level of the scarf on the mailbox side could be reinforced. This door is impossible to weigh given its weight (apparently 150 kg) and will have to be installed professionally to be able to be used safely. It looks like it came straight out of marcel pagnol's film "my mother's castle" and its solid property gates that are impossible to enter without their famous keys! 100% authentic and picturesque!
