4 chairs assigned to Georges Robert

Set of 4 straw-seated brutalist/rustic chairs — 1950s-60s, attributed to Georges Robert 4 identical solid wood chairs, beautiful dark brown patina. High back with 3 curved rungs, round turned legs resembling clubs, 6 stretchers on the base, original woven straw seats. Dimensions: H. 91 cm — seat height 43 cm. Very good condition, solid and stable structure. One chair has a slightly detached strand of straw and some visible fibres underneath (see photos). Small variations in the colour of the straw on one of the chairs, normal for a period set. Rustic chalet style, in the manner of Charlotte Perriand, Charles Dudouyt, or Atelier Marolles. Attributed to Georges Robert based on the model, no stamp on these examples. Model sold between €600 and €1,150 at dealers (Selency, Pamono). Price for the 4: €550 negotiable.
