As a designer jan had easily connection with the better designers of his decade like for example henk vos. Henk vos worked by the quote: better empty than ugly. Which resulted in lot of slight and beautiful designed furnitures. The black kabbes for example is a very large 300cm table made in sucupira wood. Slight and thin, with all the unnecessary details left out. Where other brands do everything to stabilize this uge spaces vos decided to connect the beautiful wood panels with a firm and steady steel frame that looks integrated into the wood.
