Hairdresser rognon and her cherry driver – 1950

Set of two pieces of furniture in cherry, consisting, in the first place, of a small dressing table of kidney shape, in the taste back of egypt. Its top, with framing and wire veneer in the center, opens onto a compartmentalized interior trimmed with removable fabric bottoms. This dressing table also offers a mirror around the perimeter highlighted by a wide molding, and the lines marrying those of the lid. It should be added that, in order to preserve the privacy of this space, it is equipped with an original lock in working order and accompanied by its key. In belt, this cabinet offers two small drawers with brass lens buttons, in which we will find backgrounds identical to those described above. This all-sided dressing table consists of four solid cherry uprights, carved in elegant swan necks and finished in claws. They rest on a spacer with widely cut edges, itself installed on four ball legs. We will associate with this piece of furniture a lovely heater, with a solid cherry tree structure. Its backrest, ideally curved, as well as its seat, squared, are covered with a champagne yellow fabric with leafy patterns, common to that used for the dressing table. We will also find on the uprights the graceful white palmipeds. This seat rests on four sword legs topped, for those at the front, with connecting dice with flower decorations. We will be charmed by this perfectly matched set, both in spirit and dimensions. Modest, the latter will also allow this hairdresser and her driver to be adopted by a young child, a teenager, or a woman, who will all have in common the pleasure of giving themselves a moment for themselves in a cocooning environment. ******** Era: 1950.
