"the painters witnesses of their time" is an annual exhibition founded by isis kischka in 1951. It brings together the best artists of the time around a defined theme. The first two exhibitions take place at the musée d'art moderne de la ville de paris, then the following ones will take place at the musée galliera. The event lasted until 1977 and gave rise to an annual poster and illustrated catalogue. The greatest artists of the twentieth century have exhibited there (braque, buffet, chagall, foujita, picasso, van dongen, etc.).
