A small watercolor depicting a blue rooster, with a sketch at the bottom left stamp "atelier charles badoisel" on the reverse recent black wood frame period 20th century dimensions 28 X 23 cm badoisel charles (1925-2009), french figurative painter. Of breton origin, charles badoisel spent his youth in the north, in douai, then his family moved to angers during the second world war. This painter practices oil painting, watercolor, gouache, pastel and drawing. From his many trips abroad, he filled many notebooks with drawings and watercolors and was inspired by italy, spain, portugal, the netherlands, morocco, the united states, russia. Charles badoisel will be present in the parisian salons from the 1950s: salon de la jeune peinture, salon des artistes indépendants, salon des peintres témoins de leur temps, salon comparaisons, salon du dessin et de la peinture à l'eau, salon d'automne. His works will be exhibited in the united states, japan, germany, italy, switzerland as well as in many french galleries. Creator of the "salon de peintures et de sculptures" in angers, with his friend jean commère, he will be its secretary, from its creation in 1982 until 1988. Charles badoisel was made chevalier des arts et lettres in 1985.
