Ancient chess game made of wood carved into its original box

Carved wooden chess pieces dating from the early 20th century, perhaps older. It is probably a work of alsatian craftsmen, in pine or fir (light wood) carved by hand. The king is 7cm tall, the pawn 4cm high (about). The pieces have been kept in their original box and are in perfect condition. The box shows traces of time-related wear (see detailed photos) The box measures 14 cm on the side. Note. The set is offered without a tray.
