This spacious sideboard from the 1960s stands out for the calm proportion between the long cabinet body and the slender base. The front consists of three doors with carefully selected teak veneer, where the wood grain forms an important part of the design. Narrow solid wood edges frame the doors and cabinet. Each door has its own lock with original key. The small brass hinges are deliberately left visible and form a refined contrast with the dark teak. All three original keys have been preserved. Behind the doors, the light interior contrasts with the warm exterior and is divided into three separate compartments. On the left and right are spacious storage sections with removable shelves. In the middle, directly under the top, is an original light wood drawer with black velvet lining and various compartments. A carefully crafted detail, hidden when the doors are closed, that reflects the quality of the sideboard. The cabinet stands on its original base with four round, tapered legs in solid hardwood. The frame is slightly recessed, keeping the 180cm wide cabinet visually light and free from the floor. In our workshop, we completely renovated the sideboard. Old finishes were removed, the wood restored where necessary and treated with a high-quality matte furniture oil. The brass parts were carefully polished, preserving the original details and character. With purchase, we provide a bottle of maintenance oil and matching instructions to keep the furniture in optimal condition.
