Orange plexiglass & pine pendant lamp, model 30 01.00 — Luxus Vittsjö, Sweden, 1970s

This striking pendant was designed by brothers Uno and Östen Kristiansson, founders of Luxus in Vittsjö, Sweden. Since the 1950s, they became known for inventive, material-led design, working with glass, teak, plexiglass, and metal to create lighting and furniture that felt both warm and modern. The Model 30 01.00 pendant embodies this spirit: a bold, sculptural matte orange plexiglass shade with a white inner diffuser, suspended from a solid pine neck. The contrast between the pine's natural warmth and the vivid plastic is a hallmark of their work. When off, the shade is a strong graphic form; when on, it casts a warm, golden-orange glow for soft, ambient light. The lamp is in lovely vintage condition with only minor signs of age, including a small hairline crack near the top of the shade that does not detract from its presence. It retains its original ceiling cup, both with original markings, and has been fully cleaned and checked, ready to hang and enjoy.
