The six Iris chairs, made of light beechwood, are in good condition with slight signs of wear on the lower legs. The wood has a warm tone and harmonizes beautifully with the black faux leather seats. The seat covers are in very good condition. The unusual shape of the chairs is dominated by the narrow, long, one-piece backrest and the transversely positioned front legs, reminiscent of minimalist Asian designs. The chairs were designed by Belgian designer Bob van den Berghe in the early 1980s for the Danish manufacturer Tranekaer. Founded in 1974, Tranekaer developed into an innovative manufacturer with a strong focus on the highest level of craftsmanship through collaborations with renowned designers such as van den Berghe, Ostervig, and Wegner.
