A beautiful pair of Asian-inspired table lamps featuring Thai bronze statues of ancient Apsaras celestial musicians. With a classic verdigris bronze patina, these table lamps were very popular in the mid-20th century for elegant and luxurious homes. The statue of the left lamp depicts a kneeling female figure with a bare torso elaborated with beautiful traditional jewellery and detailed headdress. Her hands are gracefully positioned in front of her in a dance-like mudra. On the right lamp the statue shows a seated female figure playing a traditional stringed instrument, resembling a Cambodian tro. She is also adorned with jewellery and a head piece with the same verdigris patina giving both lamps a cohesive look. The lamps have a tall, curved brass harp and neck, mounted on a rectangular wooden base. The lampshades are only for display purposes. For reference the dimensions of the displayed shades are base Ø35 cm, top Ø23 cm and H 23 cm. The light is soft and calm, contributing to their eclectic style. Perfect as bedside tables or to light up a dark corner in your entryway or living room. 1. Delivery or Collection from our London showroom. Same day delivery to London is possible.
