Washerwoman's laundry beater

Testimony of another time, this authentic homemade beater, was used by the mother of the person with whom I found it to beat the laundry at the time of doing the laundry at the village washhouse, 70 years ago and more. Wanting to preserve it, this gentleman took care to tint and varnish it. I simply dusted it off and injected white vinegar into the few beetle holes. This is my method to avoid using chemical insecticides, but I think it was not necessarily useful here because the holes seemed old, not active. This beater is still very strong, made of heavy, dense and rot-proof wood I imagine. It obviously contains marks of use. It measures 33cm in length, 16 in width and 2.5cm in thickness.
