Exceptional pair of table candlesticks in fine silver, St. Médard Paris, circa 1950. High-quality silver-plated metal. The St. Médard manufacture is historically renowned for the excellence and thickness of its silver plating, ensuring the brilliance and durability visible in the images. The bases are fitted with a protective burgundy felt covering to prevent scratches on furniture. Mid-20th century (circa 1950-1970). Louis XV Regency style (Neo-Rococo). Characterised by its sinuous lines, slightly curved cabriolet arms, fluted mouldings, and baluster foot with traditional lobed profiles of classic French silverware. Each candlestick features a Louis XV-inspired design with an elegant fluted central foot resting on a lobed base with a sinuous profile. Five lights per candlestick (one central candle holder and four peripheral arms), providing spectacular lighting equivalent to ten candles in total when used as a pair. To appeal to the ideal customer (collectors, interior decorators, or tableware enthusiasts), three major advantages stand out: These are not just simple metal pieces without a hallmark; they bear the hallmark of Saint-Médard Paris. In the world of table arts and French decoration, Saint-Médard is synonymous with accessible luxury and durability. Their silver plating is so thick that it withstands polishing and the test of time, maintaining a shine identical to that of solid silver. Symmetry and pair effect: In interior decoration, finding two identical five-light candelabra greatly enhances their aesthetic value. They are perfect for framing a large mirror on a sideboard, sitting above a fireplace, or serving as centrepieces during formal dinners, instantly adding a touch of refined sophistication. Condition: Excellent. Dimensions: 33 cm diameter X 27 cm height. Weight: 2, 740 g each.
