Description
This very old fountain, or water filter, often used in pharmacies, is a sandstone pasteurizer, with its tap (which makes it a rarity) in tin. This object, unusual, is in good condition (given its age, it is remarkable), and it is especially complete. The body itself, in glazed beige sandstone, exudes a perfume that makes the object, even beyond its use, a decorative contribution of the very first rank. The filter inside is also flawless. If it does not date from the 1870s, when the first copies were released in provence, this one from the 30s, is a testimony of a time not so long ago finally, when it was necessary to encourage the population to be vigilant about the water consumed. Pharmacies therefore regularly promoted these filters, which brought pure, pollution-free water into homes (even if the term did not have the connotations that we know it to have), and thus water participated in the fight against all kinds of diseases. The context that the world knows rejuvenates this beautiful object and, even if it is intended for decoration, it will maintain attention to the gestures that become daily, to keep viruses away. The brand, extremely well visible on the 'façade': mallié is a guarantee of an indisputable authenticity. The fountain is made of sandstone (and has only very light cracks), ceramics and earthenware (tin).
