Buffet

A fairly large storage unit 132 cm high but not bulky on the floor because it is 89 cm wide and 42 cm deep at the feet while its tray is 96 x 46.5 cm. It has three shelves and a drawer. The locks are original and functional, with 2 keys. It is renaissance style, made of pine and walnut veneer. His age, apparently very advanced, about 100 years, made him pass several tests such as old attack of glasses, humidity or drying, which left traces of their passage both at the back of the furniture (glasses) and on the sides (placeous took off and drying, partially missing). The set was treated and repaired as much as possible. An unusual piece of furniture deserved an unusual painting and patina too. He received his new "dress" with an old-fashioned painting, made "homemade", with lime and white of medon pigmented, like our forefathers used in time and which naturally makes a cracked and washed-out effect. From the "old" ... An effect reinforced by a patina as natural as possible that perfectly mimics dusty dirt and degradations of the "old" paint. Aged grey in colour, this buffet displays a "history" of an old house where it would have lived for decades and where it would have served unceremoniously to several generations. Inside its depth is 32 cm by 84 cm wide and it is painted in sage green with a dark grey background that can be seen appearing by wear on the doors. Protection by a matte varnish and colorless wax makes it possible to nuance the matte or satin effects where the usual frictions make more shine. For lovers of "old castle" style.
