A bowl, by Pierre d'Avesn 1930-40. Pierre Gire, also known as Pierre d'Avesn (1901-1984) In the beginning, when he was 14 years old, he worked for René Lalique for 10 years. During this period, he designed Lalique's famous 'Serpent' vase and 'Tourbillons' vase, two of the most valuable and extremely collectible works from Lalique. In 1926, he left René Lalique and created his own models. Without a doubt the most significant French glass artist for cast glass work alongside René Lalique and Sabino. The bowl is 5.5 cm high, 16 cm in diameter, and weighs 1035 grams. The bowl is without large cracks, chips, or flakes but things should be mentioned. A) It has a few small chips/irregularities along the edges and on the bottom. B) It is not signed but is certainly a Pierre Gire/d'Avesn bowl. C) General signs of use and wear, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a bowl almost 100 years old. The price is set according to condition. Secure packaging and sent with insurance.
