Charming old print depicting a scene of golf on a vast British links, in an open landscape dominated by hills and the sea horizon. In the foreground, a young caddy sits near his bag of clubs while two golfers, dressed in elegant late 19th-century sports attire, observe the game. The composition skillfully blends sports scene, landscape, and anecdote. The work bears the inscription "Painted by Douglas Adams" in the margin and comes from an edition associated with Henry Graves & Co., London, one of the major British publishers of art prints from the period (1894). The quality of the drawing, the finesse of the details, and the delicate colour highlights give this print a very particular charm. A very beautiful piece for lovers of golf, old sporting iconography, and British interiors. See the other print from the same series in my shop ("the drive"). Both are in generally good condition. A true favourite!.
