Ceramic lamp foot with polyychrome stylized floral decoration on a cracked white background. This vase was originally mounted as a lamp and is pierced at the base, see photo. I prefer it as a vase but I can provide the electric mount. Stamp of the factory on the bottom boch la louvière, d. 745. Shape number 722 engraved in hollows and signed "ct", an abbreviated signature of charles catteau. 9 cm in diameter at the base, 15 cm in diameter at the widest and 7.5 cm at the neck. Charles catteau (1880 - 1966), after training as a ceramic engineer at the national factory in sèvres, edi ed. Edied 20th largest at the la louvière, boch-kéramis factory. Hired by boch who sought to renew his production, he ran the decoration workshop there from 1907 to 1946. Charles catteau has benefited from technological advances in the reproduction and standardization of objects. Considered for this reason more as a designer than as an artist, he is one of the greatest ceramic designers of art deco.
