Description
Japanese letter opener, paper cutter or turner from the late meiji era (1868-1912) Asian art object carved and chiseled in brass and copper. The handle represents a man wearing an umbrella and a lantern surmounted by a frieze with 2 birds and a tree branch. The blade is finely chiseled with 2 characters, trees and a bird. On the other side, the handle represents flowers and a dragonfly. At the top, we discover a part of a traditional house, a bird and vegetation. Collector's item in very good condition with only small wear stains on the gold. Length 29 cm. Width 2.5 cm. Weight 82 grams.
