Bauhaus sofa in chrome, steel and fabric, Czech, 1930s.

This sofa is an authentic representative of Functionalism and the Bauhaus movement in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. At that time, tubular steel became a symbol of hygiene and modern living, with Czechoslovak manufacturers ranking among the global elite in its production. The design of the sofa is based on austere elegance and structural logic, offering maximum comfort while maintaining visual lightness. The piece has undergone professional restoration of its structural elements. The chrome tubular steel frame has been professionally cleaned and polished to regain its shine, restoring its characteristic mirror effect. The uniqueness of this piece lies in the preservation of its historical essence: the sofa features its original well-preserved spring mattress. The mattress retains its original upholstery fabric, which has only been machine cleaned. Visible signs of wear are present on the textile. Our professional renovation team in the Czech Republic has fully restored it according to the original process. In impeccable original condition, the upholstery has been professionally cleaned, and its shine has been revived by our renovation team in the Czech Republic.
