18th-century French provincial chest, made of solid oak using traditional construction with mortise and tenon joints and wooden pegs. The understated façade is rhythmically accented by fluted uprights and a curved lower rail, adorned in its centre with a discreet engraved radiating motif. The wide moulded lid opens to a substantial storage space. Beautiful old patina, with wear, splits, stains, and minor imperfections consistent with age. The fittings show signs of old modifications.
