Portrait of a young Flemish girl dating from the early 20th century, on panel. Painted with a fine brush and varnish. Slick workmanship, seeking realism in detail. Profile portrait, long hair loose. Shifty gaze in the manner of the Symbolists, leaving room for dreams and the interpretation of emotion. Blurred background in shades of grisaille. Unsigned. Good condition, with a slight crack in the lower left corner outside the portrait on the gray background. Gilded and molded plaster frame, in the classical style. Average condition of the frame, but this adds to the charm of the old. Frame dimensions: 37 x 45 x 5 cm. Painted panel dimensions: 24 x 31 cm.
