A lovely bedside table also known as a chiffonnier. It is in the Louis XV style, with its curved shapes but not overly ornate in terms of decoration. Moreover, this table is very original, featuring a writing surface that pulls out at the front and two side drawers that perfectly follow the curved lines of the piece. I am not sure of its age, but it is of good quality, with wide dovetail joints on the drawers, possibly from the second half of the 19th century or perhaps the first half of the 20th century. It is made of solid wood with veneer (wood with beautiful long and regular grains, rosewood, mahogany, teak) in shades that are more or less dark, and marquetry. The feet are adorned with a bronze sabot, it seems, whose gilding reappears when you "scrape" the dull patina. This bedside table is in good structural condition, still solid, but does not hide its age and the flaws that come with it, which is why it will require restoration. The two small knobs on the side drawers are missing, as well as a nail on one of the sabots (among the three that hold the sabot in place). The veneer has several visible chips or missing pieces (three around the edge of the top, three on the vertical edges of the piece) and other marks and scratches that are less visible but numerous. The varnish is cloudy in places. The covering of the writing surface is worn. The back panel of one drawer shows a gap. It measures 73 cm in height, 44 cm in width, 36 cm in depth, and weighs approximately 10 kg.
