This exceptional pair of Murano glass vases evokes the classic shape of ancient Roman amphorae. Meticulously handcrafted by the renowned Venetian furnace Gambaro & Poggi in the late 20th century, the two pieces feature a sophisticated colour palette, consisting of a delicate powder pink vase and a vibrant aqua green/turquoise vase. Both vases are made using the iconic and complex "Scavo" technique. This specialised process involves applying specific chemical compounds and salts to the surface of the glass during blowing, resulting in a matte, calcified finish and a refined texture that mimics the organic erosion of archaeological finds. The elegance of each vase is accentuated by two contrasting black glass handles, anchored to a circular base applied hot. Crucially, both pieces retain their original and intact "Vetri Murano" (VM) authenticity labels with the official factory code 039, a guarantee of provenance for discerning collectors. Presented in impeccable condition, this pair offers sophisticated symmetry, perfect for luxury residential interiors and post-war Italian design collectors. Details.
