1960s Afghan Carpet, 173 x 241

Classic time typical carpet from the 1960s. High quality pile with traditional “elephant foot” pattern in red shades. Quality features: Afghan carpet. Hand knotted. Approx. 40.000 knots per m2. Age 50-60 years. 100% virgin wool. Made in afghanistan. All of our carpets are cleaned in a professional carpet laundry. The first step in cleaning is to tap the carpet thoroughly to remove dust and any mites. The subsequent prewash with a ph-neutral soap removes stains. For the main wash, the carpets are thoroughly washed by hand – a special soap protects the fibers and preserves the natural wool fat of the carpets. The first dewatering takes place by means of mechanical pressing and spinning, to let the carpets dry then in a constant air circulation.
