Double bed Art Deco – Rosewood, black lacquer and frosted glass – 1930s

Double bed in Art Deco style, from the 1930s, featuring pronounced rosewood veneer, designed for a mattress size of 200 X 180 cm. The headboard showcases a characteristic stepped architecture of the period, crowned with a semicircular arch, and incorporates a frosted glass panel engraved with a stylised peacock design featuring radiating feathers and a central circular medallion, reflecting the Art Deco decorative vocabulary. The bedside tables consist of four cylindrical elements in glossy black lacquer, two on each side, contrasting with the rosewood veneer. The foot of the bed and the lowered platform with rounded corners are adorned with chevron marquetry. The whole rests on a stepped base with rounded corners. Condition report: some scratches and cracks in the varnish across the entire structure; varnish restoration is required. Veneer and black lacquer reported to be undamaged by the seller.
