Large English serving platter, 'willow' pattern, 1800-1837 With or without wall bracket. Good condition. Only a few marks and cracks which do not affect its use or beauty. The Beardmore & Birks Staffordshire Ironstone china with the Royal Arms emblem you mentioned probably dates from the Regency or early Victorian era. The Royal Arms version (1800-1837) was used during the reigns of George III, George IV and William IV, just before Queen Victoria's accession to the throne. Staffordshire was an important centre of ceramic production at this time, and Ironstone china was highly regarded for its durability and elegance. Beardmore & Birks would have been one of many well-known manufacturers in the area. Pieces bearing these marks and references are prized by collectors, particularly if they are in good condition and have clear stamps or ornate designs.
