Otter halogen desk lamp by fase, 80s. High quality halogen desk lamp. It is one of the last creations of fase, manufactured in the late 80s. It was, in turn, the first luminaire in which the madrid-based company used halogen. Large-format lamp with adjustable optics, with an angular design of "high-tech" aesthetics. Black lacquered metal. It has a transformer at its base, where the switch is located. Low voltage halogen bulb, in steatite lampholder. The name of the brand is not engraved on the lamp as it was on a label that was lost over time. Made in golden metal with soapstone lamp holder. Includes 12v halogen bulb and transformer in the base. 65 cm deep X 38 cm high X 13 cm wide. European plug (up to 250v). It works perfectly, impeccable condition. Very decorative for its chrome arms. The spanish lighting company fase was founded in madrid in 1964 by industrial designer pedro martin. It was "a very modern design proposal for the time, never seen before"... And still is. Also because of its incredible movement capability, "thanks to a sophisticated ball-and-socket joint system conceived by fase's early designers". As a result, fase became a very popular brand in spain and was also successfully exported to europe and the united states, becoming one of the biggest business successes of the spanish industry in the 1970s.
