Extrem Origin Vase by Carine Tontini

Vase in turned natural wood, smooth and varnished finish, with its interior glass container created for extrem origin by parisian designer carine tontini. Dimensions: height: 38cm - base diameter: 13cm stamp under the bottom (see photo) purchased new in 2000, not used since, delivered in its original packaging history: in 1994, gilles canonge and carine tontini created extrem origin. Their first collection of turned wood sculpture objects composed of vases, bowls, candlesticks, boxes is presented at the museum of decorative arts, at the joyce gallery. Then in 1995, they made their first participation in “interior scenes” at the maison & objet trade fair where they obtained the “discovery” prize in 1996. In 1997, they opened their workshop. The manufacturing process, from the raw material onwards, is controlled, each stage of handmade turned wood gives each piece a unique character. In 1998, they obtained a new award for the "wood and ceramic" collection (handmade turned wood, matte earthenware, enameled interior) and in 2000 for the collection “les carrés” (earthenware). Their first exhibition at the “100% design” salon in london took place in 1999. Their creations at the crossroads of modernist and graphic design and ethnic inspirations remain of timeless beauty.
