This original vintage studio pottery object was designed by gerhard liebenthron and produced in their own studio in the 1970s in bremen germany. It is made of stoneware pottery ceramic and has a very unique brown, beige coloration and surface structure. The speciality of this object are the one of a kind heads on the left and right side. The bottom is marked with typical liebenthron producer signature gl and year signature 70. A very collectible and very rare item of the liebenthron collection. The object has a very sculptural form and in its size of 20.5cm in height, it is very impressive. Straighforward and minimalistic design of the 1970s design era. Vita liebenthron: From 1945-1951 liebenthron studied at the staatliche kunstschule bremen (school of arts) in the pottery class of else krieg & dorothea colberg-tjadens. In 1951 liebenthron has been the assistent of the scultpor prof. Goersemann there. After liebenthron finished his time at the kunstschule he opened his own workshop in the boettcherstraße, bremen (in 1952). Gerhard liebenthron's work can be found in several museums in germany. The keramik museum in berlin, the fockemuseum in bremen and the hetiens museum in düsseldorf for example. He has been a member of the arbeitsgemeinschaft kunsthandwerk bremen.
