This little cherub evokes the "putto", a chubby cherub, with a curly head, chubby body, which could be seen painted or carved in italian baroque churches, adorning altars and tabernacles: the "angelo dell'altare or altar angel". This small sculpture in the round was intended to be suspended to multiply all points of view on the body of the angel in flight. It is a fine example of the effects sought by the baroque artist to create the emotion, the exuberation of the flight of the angel: the twists of the body in motion as in a ballet, the legs folded, the arms open, the wings spread, up to the gaze of the cherub, very expressive, turned towards the sky... An original iron ring attached to the back between its wings (see detail) allows it to be hung to offer the eye all the facets of the different "flight postures". No visible lacks: wings, feet and hands well complete, without breakage, in good condition of age and use for a statue of this quality. Some signs of wear are to be reported (see photos): small scales and minimal slits, polychromy retouched a posteriori... In summary, a beautiful investment in a rare piece of quality, with artistic and historical interest. For this item, delivery is included in france, belgium, germany, spain, italy, luxembourg, portugal. Neat packaging.
