Old secretary desk with marble top, late 19th century office furniture dimensions 75x40xh144cm. It opens with a drawer in the upper part, a flap and three drawers in the lower part. Their facades are curved, inlaid with light wood representing floral motifs. Bronze handles, 1 key available, 4 functional locks. Halfway up, this piece of furniture is also potbellied, recalling the so-called “tomb” chests of drawers specific to the louis XIV style. Particularly curved lower part. The interior of this furniture offers a writing space with a gold rim. The niche contains 3 drawers: 2 small drawers above 1 large trompe l'oeil drawer. The uprights have bronze ornaments. The drawer interiors are made of solid oak. The drawers are dovetailed. This secretary is in good condition considering its age (late 19th century) but has normal traces of use: a few chips and scratches on the marble, lacunary or raised marquetry in a few places, wear on the covering of the top in places, some old repairs.
