Rare decorative metal vase Disko by Just Andersen, Danish Grace / Art Deco 1920s/30s. With two handles and a hallmark: JUST in a triangle, Denmark and model D18. About the artist: Just Andersen was born in Greenland in 1884. He was a renowned sculptor and silversmith. He is best known for his bronze works and his own invention, named Disko, after the bay where he grew up in Greenland. The Disko metal is an alloy composed of tin, lead, and antimony. It is particularly appreciated for its clean lines, timeless and sculptural forms. He founded his own workshop in 1918, but also worked for GAB in Sweden and Georg Jensen in Denmark. He passed away in Denmark in 1943.
