Old glazed ceramic jug – Central Europe, 1974

This ancient ceramic jug, popular and glazed, is a spouted jug with amber glaze and slip dot decoration, dated 1974. It originates from Central Europe, within the popular glazed pottery of the 20th century. The popular glazed ceramics equipped the kitchen and pantry of the rural home, for serving and preserving. Its earthenware and glaze were suited for daily use. The piece is hand-turned in earthenware and covered with glaze, featuring the irregular craftsmanship typical of traditional pottery.
