Veb leuchtenbau glossy red mushroom desklamp in good condition. Little signs of time & usage. Attributed to lutz rudolph. Veb stands for volks eigener betrieb which means it was a publicly-owned business, what was the most common legal form in east germany during that time period. The company started in the beginning of the 1900 as a metal printing factory but changed its name to veb leuchtenbau after the second world war and became a producer of many famous lamps. After graduating as a qualified designer, lutz rudolph worked from 1960 as a research assistant at the institute for applied arts berlin. Besides designing lamps such as the veb beststeller lamp, kontrast, he also designed table cutlery and at some point in time he was head of the sub-department automobile construction, rail vehicles and shipbuilding.
