Thomas François Cartier (1879-1943): Gordon Setter. Terracotta figure with brown patina. Publisher's stamp on the reverse. Ceramic art. Some wear to the patina due to age. Thomas François Cartier, French animal sculptor, studied under Georges Gardet. He was known for creating numerous models of predatory animals, including lions, big cats, and especially hunting dogs. He exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1904, continued to perfect his skills, and received a gold medal in 1927 for this statue. Dimensions: H 30 W 58 cm.
