Elegant and rare Model A 283F armchair, designed by Gustav Adolf Schneck for Thonet-Mundus Vienna. An early production example, manufactured before 1931, crafted from bent beechwood with a dark stained finish and featuring the original Viennese cane seat and backrest. The gracefully curved armrests and organic, modern lines are characteristic of Schneck's design and reflect the transition from classic bentwood furniture to the modernism of the 1930s. Gustav Adolf Schneck was one of the leading German architects and designers of the early 20th century. His furniture designs for Thonet-Mundus are highly regarded for their elegant proportions, technical innovation, and timeless aesthetic. Condition: Good original vintage condition with age-related wear, an attractive patina, and minor signs of age. The original Viennese cane is in beautiful, stable condition. A significant design by Gustav Adolf Schneck and a rare collector's piece from the early Modernist period of Thonet-Mundus.
