The textile forming the front of the cushion is an authentic piece of traditional Greek handwork, embroidered by hand on an exceptionally dense fabric with the use of an embroidery frame. The remarkable density of the textile and the precision of the embroidery give the piece its distinctive richness, texture and durability. Originally made decades ago as a decorative household textile, this rare piece has been individually sourced in Greece and carefully reimagined as a contemporary cushion in Athens. The cushion itself is newly made, it is the extraordinary embroidered textile on the front that is vintage. Because each textile was worked entirely by hand, every piece is unique.
