1980s “R401” Chair by Shiro Kuramata for Pastoe, Netherlands

A beautiful “r401” chair designed by shiro kuramata and manufactured by pastoe in the netherlands around 1980. This eye-catching chair has a lovely minimalist design. The straight structure with bent armrests give it a very nice modern appeal. The set and back are made from the same sheet of folded perforated metal. This makes the piece an iconic and highly recognizable find of dutch mid-century design! It remains in fully original, fair condition. The photos represent it well. Structurally sound, but the mesh has some rust at the seat and the rubbers to the armrests have some small damages.
