These 4 Selene chairs are superb and in very good condition, designed by Vico Magistretti for Artemide in Italy circa 1969. The entire chair is made from a single piece of molded fiberglass, with the legs then attached. The legs are shaped to provide extra stability and ease of stacking. Due to their fiberglass material, they are suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The shape of the movable backrest makes it very comfortable — it was one of the most affordable and comfortable products of its time. The chair was patented in 1967 and still bears the Patent Pending sign (indicating its age). They are held in the permanent collection of MOMA. Some light scratches consistent with age. Minimal discoloration and well preserved. They measure 47W x 39D x 75.3H. Fixed to the floor at 45cm.
