Chic coffee table, designed for games thanks to the 4 drawers, even though there is no felt. Two lift-up flaps on the short sides. It rests on tapered and fluted legs and features 4 drawers around the edge (2 on each length). Rosewood veneer and lemon tree inlay in 3 strips on the top, and in relief for the fluting of the legs. Louis XVI style, 20th-century work, probably from the Art Deco period, possibly a bit later, around the 1940s? 70 x 83.5 (128.5 with flaps extended) x 65 cm. 1 key, the locks marked with the Select brand, best known for hardware and fittings for boats (see the box below). Generally in good condition. On the top, a small scratch, a crack along the length, and a few minor light scuffs. One corner of a flap has a small veneer loss, and opposite there is a black mark. An old small restoration at the junction of one of the legs. The Poumarèdes and Martinet factory: It was established following the strikes of 1906. Two mechanics from the Stremler factory, Mr. Edmond Dufrancatel and Emile Poumarèdes, created the first building. Their first catalogue featured locks for furniture, cabinets, bookshelves, buffets, chests of drawers, as well as hardware for furniture. In 1920, the factory became "Poumarèdes et Martinet" following the marriage of Mr. Dufrancatel's daughter to Mr. Martinet. Locks for buildings, security cylinders, and then locks for metal joinery were added to the furniture locks... the SELECT brand was registered. Collection in person on site: removal, protection, and transport are the responsibility of the buyer.
