Vintage Brass Pendant Lamp Iridescent Murano Glass

An extraordinary vintage pendant lamp combining a polished brass frame with iridescent Murano glass panels — a piece that has to be seen lit to be fully believed. The body is an octagonal brass lantern form, its curved panels reflecting and amplifying the light from within. Set into the frame are thick, deeply moulded glass panels of Venetian origin — each one cast with an architectural relief of layered arches, the surface treated with an iridescent finish that shifts through blue, violet, gold and green depending on the angle and the light. Small faceted crystal drops punctuate the brass panels between the glass, adding further sparkle. Switch it on and the room transforms. The iridescent glass blazes with colour — deep cobalt and electric violet at the centre of each panel, radiating outward through amber and gold — while the brass throws warm reflected light in all directions. The effect on surrounding walls and ceilings is extraordinary: sweeping arcs and halos of colour that move as you move through the room. A lamp of this character and quality is increasingly rare to find. It sits comfortably in a Hollywood Regency interior, a maximalist dining room, or anywhere that deserves a true centrepiece.
