This fine wool rug is a vintage chinese carpet woven with an elegant colour palette and design. The central design features a circular floral medallion woven on a blue background with a geometric symmetrical design woven in cream. This has then been framed by a layered repeat pattern border. Handmade in china in the 1970s this piece was constructed with fine organic materials including hand-spun wool that has been dyed with organic vegetable dyeing techniques which have been used for generations.
