Large Louis XVI style mirror in lacquered wood and gilded wood circa 1900. Important fireplace mirror in Louis XVI style, featuring an elegant frame in sculpted and lacquered ivory-coloured wood, highlighted by a beaded frieze. The pediment is adorned with a richly executed garland in finely gilded wood, held by an imposing central bow, an emblematic composition of the decorative repertoire of the late 18th century. The mirror consists of original mercury glass, assembled in several panels, punctuated by gilded bronze rosettes, giving the whole piece the charm and authenticity of antique mirrors. With its harmonious proportions and the quality of its decoration, this mirror will bring a great deal of elegance above a fireplace, in an entrance hall, or in a classic or contemporary living room.
