Description
This long and large rectangular coffee table is in perfect condition and signed. It was designed by roger capron (1922-2006) in the 60s and 70s. The rounded checkered top at both ends rests on an assembled and stained wooden base. The sandstone tiles engraved with footprints of foliage belong to the herbarium of the scrubland so declined by the artist. The colors of autumn are tranquil in all shades of beige and ochre and the nature of capron imposes itself on our eyes with finesse and softness even though this theme has become so prominent. International grand prize for ceramics in 1970, gold medal of the milan triennial in 1954, gold medal in brussels in 1959, roger capron will go down in history as one of the greatest. He bequeaths us a work of art in the form of an everyday object.
