Exceptional mid-century art glass bowl by Jaroslav Beránek, produced at the Skrdlovice glassworks in Czechoslovakia as part of the famous Andromeda series, around 1950. The piece showcases Beránek's characteristic interest in sculptural and organic glass forms. Its elongated low profile is made from substantial clear glass with beautiful layered olive, yellow-green, and light tones, creating a swirling fluid effect throughout the body. The thick glass walls and organic undulating contours give the bowl a highly sculptural presence. Its appearance changes with the light, revealing different depths of green and clear glass within the fluid pattern. An exceptional example of mid-century Czechoslovak art glass, suitable for a private collection or as a sculptural centerpiece in a sophisticated interior.
